Summer QuickMix
Never really got into Pandora over the years. My music collection now being spread out across Dropbox, Google Music, and Amazon. Tried Spotify, didn't really like it. Scroble to last.fm whenever possible. But I've felt the collection has seen too many summers without much updating.
So I went to Pandora and looked for the surf rock genre, which wasn't there. So I made a summery quickmix:

A Picasa Annoyance
Google's properties (with the exception of Sites, I think) use Picasa to store your images in automatic, system-created albums - but it doesn't treat these albums any differently than your own personal albums. As such, they become scattered about your album list and you can easily lose track of them. To give you an idea, here's a list of automatically-created albums I can pick out of my hundred or so personal albums:
- Photos from posts (Google+)
- Instant Upload (Google+)
- Drop Box (Picasa)
- 1 album per Blogger blog (Blogger)
- Blogger Pictures (appears to contain several sizes of my Blogger profile picture; Blogger)
- Profile Photo (Google Profiles)
- Scrapbook Photos (Google Profiles)
Google has a good opportunity coming up for fixing this when they re-brand Picasa to Google Photos. Also; it'd be nice if there was an option for Google Sites to do image hosting via Picasa.

Thoughts on Bin Laden's Death
It's hard to know how to feel. I don't think I've ever felt especially good when hearing that another living creature has died. Tonight, after hearing of Osama bin Laden's death, only two real things have been swirling around in my mind:
- Where's the forgiveness? The Bible seems pretty clear about the concept, but none of the Christians I know seem to want to think or talk about it. It's a noticeable absence.
- Some person I don't know was killed by some other people I don't know for having killed yet more people I didn't know. This seems quite a self-centered way to be thinking of the situation, but in all honesty, I don't think I can help it. I try to put the news in practical terms and come up blank. I don't see how this changes things in the world and so it's more or less a non-event.
